My very favourite books and series...which I will definitely add to in the coming years.
Middle Grade and Young Adult
Jennifer Donnelly -- A Gathering Light (Quite frankly, there are few books that compare. I own a signed copy,
personalized by the lovely Jennifer, herself, and it is sacred to me)
Kelly Creagh -- Nevermore, Enshadowed.
Carol Rifka Brunt -- Tell the Wolves I'm Home (The very best in literary fiction, I must say)
Lucy Christopher -- Stolen
Colleen Hoover -- Hopeless
Becca Fitzpatrick -- Hush Hush, Crescendo
Gayle Foreman -- If I Stay and Where She Went
Megan Miranda -- Fracture
E.B. White -- Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little
Maggie Steifvater -- Shiver, Linger, Forever
Eileen Cook -- Unraveling Isobel, Fourth Grade Fairy Series, Used to Be
Simone Elkeles -- Perfect Chemistry, Rules of Attraction, Chain Reaction
JK Rowling -- The Harry Potter Series (Seriously, who out there doesn't like them?)

P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast -- The House of Night Series
Colleen Houck -- The Tiger Series
Mary Downing Hahn -- Wait Till Helen Comes: A Ghost Story

Kresely Cole -- Immortals After Dark Series
JR Ward -- The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series
Emma Donoghue -- Room
Charlene Groome -- "The Warriors" series (I love hockey romance!!!)
Writing and Craft
Donald Maass -- The Fire in Fiction (If you want to write a novel, you need to read this book--or any book
by Donald Maass, for that matter--because he's been in the business a long time,
and he is a man whose advice you should take very seriously, and memorize,
word for word. Do the exercises. They make a difference. Trust me)
The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing (Donald Maass' name is on it, as well as many many other skilled
writers. This was the first book I bought when I wanted to start
my malion novels)
The Element of Fiction Series (a definite must for all writers out there, in my opinion)
Lynn Quitman Troyka -- Handbook for Writers (is sitting within arms reach at all times on my desk)
Stephen King -- On Writing
Leslie Wainger -- Writing a Romance Novel for Dummies (because I am one, at least once a day, and it is a fabulous reference)
Noah Lukeman -- The First Five Pages
Valerie Parv -- Heart and Craft
The Houghton Mifflin Canadian Dictionary (which takes up a lot of space, but is absolutely essential for me--pictures especially)
TV Series--I do watch a few, but they are all recorded. I can't keep up with anything on regular programming. If you haven't
watched these, I highly recommend them.
The Sons of Anarchy
Highway Through Hell (Filmed in my hometown!)
Shark Tank
Outlander
Game of Thrones
The Sopranos
The Tudors
Sex and the City-loved the movies, too!
Star Trek: The Next Generation--now stop laughing! I am a total Trekkie, and I'm not embarrassed to say I had a huge
crush on a certain Klingon warrior when I was growing up. The movies, by the way, are
awesome--especially "Into Darkness".
The Wonder Years
The Vampire Diaries
Teen Wolf (2012-2013, and yes, I LOVE the Michael J. Fox movies, too. Who doesn't?)
