Hey,
At my RWA-GVC chapter meeting today, a lady by the name of Celia Lewis spoke to us about future plans and goals. Have you ever thought about where you want to be in five years? Today we wrote that down and then worked backwards, jotting down each year (starting in 2017) and what we perceived happening in that year. I wrote down that in five years I want to have my series finished, and that I'd like to have a little rancher with a long, long driveway.
Then she told us to write down the possible obstacles.
Uh-oh.
How do I do it??
It was amazing how many people wrote down money, energy and time as their most significant obstacles. How do we get more???
I was thinking to myself, "Well, I could do x or y or z..."
But really, if you're serious enough, you will always find a way around the obstacles that want to prevent you from attaining your goals. Life happens. Problems arise. But those who persevere, succeed.
I'm keeping that thought in mind. And when the time comes, I really hope I can crush those mole hills that really feel like mountains. I hope you can, too. Let's all not let those little crickets in our heads get the best of us; they certainly have brought me down a time or two--but not for very long.
Take care,
M.
