Hi Everyone,
Before the end of 2013, I just wanted to touch base with you all and wish you a very merry Christmas! This month has been very busy. As any mom out there knows, December is all about the kids, special events at school, and everything wintery, in preparation for the big day. I fiercely put my children and family before any writing comes into play, and I'm proud to say that I've taken this month off writing, for the most part. Number one because I'm just too exhausted at the end of the day, and number two, because I wouldn't dare miss a moment with my children and family that I will never get back. Christmastime is my favourite time of year, and I won't give up cuddle time, great movies and visiting for my stories, which will always be there when I come back to my computer desk.
There is some exciting news though:
As of January, the price of hardcopies and ebooks at FriesenPress will be as follows:
Ebooks online at Kobo, Kindle, iBook, Nook, Google Play, Ebook Pie: $7.99
(though I did see Kobo already has it listed for $7.99 and Google Play books for just $6.15. What a great stocking stuffer for your teen!)
Paperback: $ 14.99 CAD
Hardcover: $20.99 CAD
This price adjustment will take a few weeks, but I'll be sure make a post when it takes effect. By then end of January it should, hopefully, be changed in all formats. Amazon, a third party, has already adjust their paperback and hardcover price, but I always recommend purchasing through FriesenPress, where you will get the lowest price.
Why the price decrease all of a sudden?
In order to get Beneath the Surface into a bookstore, it needs to match the bookstore prices with similar page counts for its genre. I researched a lot of pricing, page counts, and together with FriesenPress, we came up with this new number, where mass prints will now also come from Manitoba, a local company. Getting into a bookstore is really difficult, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my inbox will have some good news in the new year, so keep your fingers crossed for me! I also hope to do a few book signings, too, but that depends on whether it makes it to the shelf.
On another positive note, I've also got some deleted scenes (almost) ready to go for you, I just need to polish them a bit, as well as the final Scene Hunt Sunday for BTS. By the end of the month, or early January, I'll have those out to you, and I'll be sure to make a post to let you know.
Those of you who are looking for book two, Beyond the Borders, because some of you readers want more, I'm working on it!! I'm currently seven chapters in, and I hope it have it in editing by summertime, which will put publishing sometime early 2015 (though I hope it's sooner).
Until then, Merry Christmas everyone! I wish you all health and happiness in 2014.
